Guest teacher for Youth Stringband and Bluegrass Jam fixture Kendall Weddell recently taught the kids Run Pete Run. The song was originally performed by Jimmy Martin in 1972, but Kendall brings this song to new life with crowd participation, harmonica breaks, and even a moment of silence for dear “Pete.” You can be sure to hear this song if you frequent the streets of Floyd on a warm Friday evening, right outside the Floyd Country Store, or inside on Sundays at 4 pm during the Bluegrass Jam.
