Old Time Music Get Together
March 18 – 21, 2027
The Handmade Music School, along with The Floyd Country Store, is excited to announce the 8th Annual Floyd County Old Time Music Get Together at the beautiful EcoVillage in Floyd County, Virginia! This amazing four day camp is tentatively scheduled for March 18 – 21, 2027.
The camp will take place at the Floyd Event Center, which is part of the Floyd EcoVillage. The facility features beautiful timber-framed buildings on 75 private acres just a few miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway and the charming town center of Floyd. The EcoVillage hosts a performance space with a great wooden dance floor, stage and sound system for concerts and dances, and a variety of teaching spaces. There is a dining hall with a commercial kitchen and The Floyd Country Store will be offering healthy and high-quality meals throughout the weekend.
The Floyd Old Time Music Get Together offers intermediate and advanced classes in fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, bass, and singing. Afternoon sessions will feature presentations and workshops with visiting masters, and evenings will offer square-dancing, concerts, and lots of tune-playing opportunities.
Meals
The Floyd County Old Time Music Get-Together offers an optional meal plan provided by The Floyd Country Store Cafe. The Floyd Country Store is known for its music and dancing, but more and more these days they are also known for their good homemade food – a match made in heaven! ​Food doesn’t have to be fancy to be good, satisfying, and healthy. ​You can rest assured that through ​their relationship​s​ with local farms and bakeries ​they will be providing our Get-Together guests with delicious seasonal food​.​
​To include meals in your camp registration, please select the “Camp & Meals” payment option at checkout. The meal plan includes a welcoming meal on Thursday evening, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday, and breakfast and lunch on Sunday.​ All day coffee service and snacks will be provided. Per-meal options will be available.
Lodging
Floyd Ecovillage
Our long-weekend camp is held at the Floyd EcoVillage with onsite lodging available at the Bermed Lodge and three wilderness cabins, as well as several RV sites and camp sites. Most lodging options at The EcoVillage are offered as full cabins and rooms. The Wilderness Cabins and Bermed Lodge rooms provide a comfortable setting for you and your friends or family, while the RV and camp sites offer an affordable option in the beautiful natural setting of the EcoVillage. Hotel Floyd
For those interested in staying downtown, Hotel Floyd is a great option, and still less than three miles from the weekend activities at the EcoVillage. Tuition
We offer several different tuition packages for attending the Get Together. EARLY BIRD RATES are available until February 1, 2027! We encourage you to register early to take advantage of this offer!
Camp tuition + Meal ticket: $600 for Early Bird Purchase ($650 after Feb 1) – your prime “get it all” package!
Camp tuition with NO Meal ticket: $420 for Early Bird Purchase ($470 after Feb 1) – this is a great option if you plan to eat most of your meals off-site. Individual meals will be available for purchase a la cart at the Get Together.
Meal ticket ONLY (no camp tuition): $180 – this is a great option if someone will be traveling to Floyd with you, but won’t be taking classes at the Get Together.
