Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced musician looking to take your playing to another level, private lessons provide the opportunity to get the personal attention that can be beneficial to your growth as a musician.

How Our Lessons Work

Decide what lesson length you would like: we offer 30 and 60 minute lessons.

Next, contact us to set up a lesson! Our administrative staff will work with you to determine the best teacher for you, and set up an initial lesson. Click the button below to email us, or call us at 540-745-2110.

After your lesson, we will set you up to continue your musical journey with members of our teaching team.

Once you have an lesson scheduled, you can use our student portal to view relevant information.

Private Lessons

Start taking private lessons at Handmade Music School! Our experienced and professional faculty will work with you to develop an individualized program that helps you achieve your musical goals. We are currently offering in-person or virtual lessons. If you are interested in a virtual lesson, please let us know that when you contact us.

We will work with you to select the instructor who best fits your interests, goals, and schedule.

Our lessons are available as Private Lesson (1 person) or Duo Session (2 people), or group private lessons (3 or more people learning together on the same instrument). Duo Sessions are good for siblings, friends, or partner dance classes. If you are interested in a band coaching session (3+ people), you can read more about those on our Group Classes page.

If you’ve taken lessons with us before, note that as of November 2025, our lesson booking process has changed to be handled through our administrative staff only. Contact us to set up your next lesson!

Our lesson rates are listed here. If you are interested in purchasing a pre-paid pass, please let us know!

Lesson Frequency:

We are happy to offer lessons at a frequency that best suits your interests and needs. Some students prefer lessons every week, others prefer bi-weekly or bi-monthly lessons, and still others take them on an as-needed basis. Let us know how we can help you find the lesson frequency that’s right for you!

Private Lesson Rates (1 Person)

30 Minute Rates: $35 per lesson

Or $30 per lesson when purchasing a (5) or (10) lesson pre-paid pass.

60 Minute Rates: $65 per lesson

Or $60 per lesson when purchasing a (5) or (10) lesson pre-paid pass.

Duo Session rates (2 People)

30 Minute Rates: $45 per lesson

Or $40 per lesson when purchasing a (5) or (10) lesson pre-paid pass.

60 Minute Rates: $80 per lesson

Or $75 per lesson when purchasing a (5) or (10) lesson pre-paid pass.

Payment Options

You are welcome to pay for Handmade Music School lessons, camps, workshops, and other events using credit card, cash, or check. Credit card payments will include a 3% processing fee by the credit card companies, and is the only option available through our online registration system. To pay via credit card, you will need to log onto our student registration system and add a payment method.
