Youth Singing Workshop with Mac Traynham

Join us at the Handmade House on July 19, 2025 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm for a Youth Music Workshop with Mac Traynham. Cost is $20.

Mac Traynham will offer a workshop called “Singing Words to Old-Time Tunes” in our Youth Summer Music Workshop series. This workshop is designed for young musicians between ages 10 to 18. This workshop is open to all skill levels and instruments.

Old-time songs often have great melodies that are fun to just play on your instrument. Some are fast. Some are slow. However, it’s more fun to add the words occasionally to a fast dance tune. Come learn more about the words to tunes that many already know how to play. Silly Songs, Animal songs, Train Wreck songs, Love Songs, Happy and Sad songs will be introduced. All can play along or just sing along.

Learn how to adapt your voice to the Key that a tune is already being played in plus adapt a song to the best key for your voice.  Words will be provided to go in your songbook and build a repertoire.

To register your young musician, click the registration link below, and then select the workshop your child wants to attend. Then you will be able to confirm the date of the session and enroll your child in the class.
